1950 US Census - Gilbert Jordal

Gilbert Jordal and his wife Dorothy Jenny (Ahlberg) and their children, Vergene Gloria, Rosemary Ann and Charles Gilbert Eldon Jordal were living in Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois at the time of the 1950 US Census.     

Gilbert Jordal and family are found on lines 9 - 13 of the census.   Gilbert was employed as farmer.

Gilbert was the son of Anna (Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) included Svend Jossendal, most likely related on his mother's side of the family.

Gilbert was the fourth child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.    Gilbert was born September 5, 1899 and baptized October 1, 1899.

Gilbert Orlando Jordal - burial

Gilbert Orlando Jordal, grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson was born on September 5, 1899 in Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.

Gilbert married Dorothy Jenny Ahlberg on December 31, 1924.    Dorothy was born in 1901 in Sweden to Jennie and Carl Ahlberg and immigrated to the United States in 1902.

Dorothy and Gilbert both passed away in 1972.   I do not know the date of Dorothy's death, but Gilbert passed away June 2, 1972 in Lee, Lee county, Illinois.    They were both buried at the Malta Cemetery in Malta, DeKalb county, Illinois.

1930 US Census - Gilbert Jordal & Martha (Jordal) Askeland

Here is the 1930 US Census for Gilbert Jordal and Martha Askeland, grandchildren of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Gilbert was living in Lynnville township, Ogle county, Illinois with wife Dorothy (Ahlberg) and their daughter Vergene.    

Living a few houses away was Gilbert's younger sister, Martha Askeland with husband Adolph and a servant.

Gilbert and Martha were the children of Anna (Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.

1920 US Census - Susanna (Jordal) Johnson, Simon Jordal, Anna (Jossendal) Jordal and Gilbert Jordal

Here is the 1920 US Census for Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson's grandchildren, Susanna (Jordal) Johnson, Simon Jordal and Gilbert Jordal.     Sigri and Ole's daughter-in-law, Anna (Jossendal) Jordal is also included on this census from Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois.

Susanna (Anna) the daughter of Isabelle (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal was living with husband Arthur and their children, Blanche, Levi and Walter as well as Anna's younger brother, Simon Jordal.

Two households away were Anna and Simon's mother, Anna (Jossendal) Jordal, Elling Winterton, her companion following the death of husband Gunder as well as Anna and Gunder's children, Gilbert, Anna Elizabeth, Martha and Edith.    Anna (Jossendal) Jordal's mother, Anna Jossendal was also living with the family.

Another family living nearby was the family of Seward Sanderson and his son, Lawrence Sanderson who were part of the Finnestad bloodline.

Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson's grandson, Gilbert Orlando Jordal completed his draft registration for World War I on September 12, 1918 in Sycamore, Illinois.

Gilbert was the son of Anna (Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.
