1950 US Census - Ernest O Jordal

Here is the 1950 US Census for Ernest O Jordal, wife Marguerite (Preiss) and their two youngest daughters, Janice Elaine and Nancy Ann living in South Grove Township, DeKalb county, Illinois.


The Jordal family can be found on lines 7 - 10 of the US Census.    Ernest was employed as a farmer.

An interesting note:   Marguerite's brother Max Preiss was living next door to Verlis Finnestad, the brother of Kenneth Finnestad who was the husband of Ernest's sister, Lillian Jordal.   Another Preiss connection:  Ernest and Lillian's youngest sister, Evelyn Jordal was married to Marguerite and Max's brother, Charles Preiss.  A very small world with many entwining relationships.

Here is the 1950 US Census for Omer Jordal, his wife Mabel Odith (Berg) and their son Donald living in Malta township, DeKalb county, Illinois.   Their entries can be found on lines 5 - 7.


Omer was employed as a farmer and Donald was employed as a 'common laborer' for a construction company.

Omer Jordal was the fifth child and 4th son born to Ingebor (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Olson Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Here is the 1950 US Census for Martin Jordal living in Mayfield township, DeKalb county, Illinois with wife Alvera Julia (Johnson) and their son Marvin.     Martin and Alvera are located on lines 29 and 30 of sheet 14.


Marvin Jordal is located on line 1 of sheet 15.
