Edith Matilda Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Edith Matilda Jordal (#29), granddaughter of of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) included Edith's cousins, Celia Jordal daughter of Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal and Myrtle L Jordal daughter of Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal. 

Edith was the eighth child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.     She was born September 6, 1907 and baptized October 6, 1907.

Silas O Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Silas O Jordal (#10), grandson of of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) included Arthur Johnson who may have been the husband of Silas' cousin, Susanna (Jordal) Johnson, (illegible) Maland aka Mæland most likely a relative of Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) Jordal, and Alma Jordal, daughter of Lars Halstenson Jordal and wife Ingeborg Helgesdatter Jordal.

Silas was the  seventh child born to child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.   He was born April 26, 1907 and baptized June 23, 1907.

Lyman Theador Jordal and Milo Irvin Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Lyman Theador Jordal (#24) and Milo Irvin Jordal (#7), grandson and great great grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) for Lyman included Martha Knudson, sister of Lars, Gunder and Omund Jordal who had married Ingebright Knudson.   This was the first mention I've encountered of Martha following her marriage in 1882.   

Witnesses for Milo included his grandfather, Lars Jordal,  great aunt Anna (Larson Jossendal) Jordal and aunt Susanna (Jordal) Johnson.


































Lyman was born August 19, 1905 and baptized September 24, 1905.    Lyman was the seventh child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.

Milo was the second child born to Elizabeth (Brown) and Ole L Jordal.  He was born January 27, 1906 and baptized May 10, 1906.   Milo was the grandson of Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.

Ernest O Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Ernest O Jordal, (#4) grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) included Elizabeth (Brown) Jordal, wife of his cousin, Ole Jordal.


































Ernest was the sixth child born to  Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.  He was born January 19, 1905 to and baptized April 23, 1905.

Omer O Jordal, Martha Svenia Jordal, LaVern Amos Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Omer O Jordal (#1),  Martha Svenia Jordal (#14) and LaVern Amos Jordal (#10), grandson, granddaughter and great grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) for Omer included his aunt, Guro Haldorsdatter Mæland.    Another witness, Samson Mæland is most likely related to Ingeborg as well but I have yet to find the connection.  

Witnesses for Martha do not appear to include any blood relations.

Witnesses for LaVern included his father, Lars and uncle Simon Jordal.

The baptism record indicates Omer was born October 18, 1902, though this may be an error.   The social security death index states he was born October 19, 1902.   Omer was baptized January 18, 1903 and was the fifth child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.

Martha Svenia Jordal was the sixth child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.     She was born September 7, 1903 and baptized October 11, 1903.

LaVern Amos Jordal was the first child born to Elizabeth (Brown) and Ole L Jordal.  He was born February 27, 1904 and baptized April 17, 1904.   LaVern was the grandson of Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.   

Martin O Jordal & Annie 'Anna' Elizabeth Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Martin O Jordal (#8) and Annie 'Anna' Elizabeth Jordal (#18), grandson and granddaughter  of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) don't appear to include any family members, though Lars Halstenson Jordal and wife Ingeborg Helgesdatter Jordal appeared at Martin's baptism. 

Martin was the fourth child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.   He was born December 6, 1900 and baptized April 7, 1901.

Annie 'Anna' Elizabeth was the fifth child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.    She was born June 23, 1901 and baptized August 18, 1901.

Gilbert Orlando Jordal - baptism

Witnesses (below) included Svend Jossendal, most likely related on his mother's side of the family.

Gilbert was the fourth child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.    Gilbert was born September 5, 1899 and baptized October 1, 1899.

Harvey O Jordal - baptism

Harvey was the third child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.   Harvey was born September 16, 1898 and baptized November 6, 1898.

Marie 'Mary' Caroline Jordal - baptism

Marie was the third child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.   She was born September 13, 1897 and baptized October 17, 1897.

Olai O Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Olai O Jordal (#26), grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

 Witnesses included Olai's aunt and uncle, Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Gunder Jordal and their son, Simon L Jordal.

Olai was the second child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.   Olai was born September 8 1896 and baptized and October 18, 1896.

Mabel Leila Jordal - baptism

Witnesses included her aunt and uncle, Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal and cousin, Ole L Jordal and his mother, (Mabel's aunt) Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) Jordal.

Mabel was the second child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.     She was born November 11, 1895 and baptized December 8, 1895.

Sylvia Anna Jordal and Celia Berthana Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for cousins, Sylvia Anna Jordal (#30) and Celia Berthana Jordal (#1), granddaughters of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses (below) for Sylvia included uncle Lars Olson Jordal, Lars Halstenson Jordal and wife Ingeborg Helgesdatter Jordal (unrelated), cousins Simon Jordal and Annie (Susanna) Jordal.   I can't quite make out Martha's last name so not sure if it is a relative.  Her aunt, Martha had married Ingebrigt Knudson in 1882 and I have not been able to find any further documentation on Martha after her marriage.

Witnesses for Celia included aunt and uncle, Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal, Lars Halstenson Jordal and wife Ingeborg Helgesdatter Jordal (unrelated) and cousins Ole and Annie (Susanna) Jordal.

Sylvia was the first child born to Anna (Larson Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.     She was born September 29, 1894 and baptized November 4, 1894.  

Celia was the first child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.   She was born November 29, 1894 and baptized January 13, 1895.

Myrtle Leila Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Myrtle Leila Jordal, (line #21) granddaughter of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

 

Witnesses (below) included Lars Halstenson Jordal and wife Ingeborg Helgesdatter Jordal.   As far as I know, Lars and Ingeborg Jordal were not related; they had just lived on the same farm in Norway.  If I find a bloodline connection, I'll post to show the link.

 

Myrtle was the sixth child born to Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.    She was born August 21, 1892 and baptized September 25, 1892.

The records indicated Isabelle's maiden name was Sigursdatter, which I have encountered on a few occasions.    I had previously seen this and thought it was correct, though Isabelle was born in the United States so taking her father's first name as a last name would not have applied.   Had she been born in Norway, Sigursdatter would have been the correct last name.

Martin Lars Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Martin Lars Jordal, (line #14) grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Witnesses included Omund Jordal, (misspelled as Amund), the youngest brother of Lars Jordal and Ole Jordal, the eldest son of Isabelle and Lars.

Martin Lars Jordal was the fifth child born to Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.    He was born June 13, 1884 and baptized July 20, 1884.

Alfred Lars Jordal - baptism

Alfred was the fourth child born to Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.    He was born November 30, 1881 and baptized December 25, 1881.

None of the witnesses on page 2 appear to be relatives though there may be a connection on Isabelle's side of the family.

Susanna was the second child born to Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.   The church record states she was born March 27, 1877 and baptized April 15, 1877.

Ole L Jordal - baptism

Here is the baptism record for Ole L Jordal (line #3), grandson of Sigri Sigursdatter and Ole Larson.

The second page includes the names of witnesses, none of which are known relatives on the Jordal side.   The siblings of Lars that eventually moved from Norway to the United States would not have occurred for another few years.    Ingeborg Halvorson listed was Isabelle's mother.

Ole was the first child born to Isabelle Cordelia (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.     The church records states he was born December 30, 1875 and baptized a month later on January 30, 1876**.

**Historical records are filled with inaccuracies.  The funeral record indicates Ole was born December 31 1875.

Martin Lars Jordal - baptism

Here is the First Lutheran Church of Lee, baptism record* for Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson's grandson, Martin Lars Jordal (entry #14) born on June 13, 1844 and baptized July 20, 1844.

Martin was the 5th child born to Isabelle (Halvorson) and Lars Jordal.  

The witnesses (above) included Martin's uncles, Gunder and my great grandfather, Omund Jordal.

Omund Olson - baptism

My great grandfather, Omund Olson was the 6th and final child born to Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.   Here is the baptism record (entry #11) from the Odda parish, Hordaland County, Norway.

Omund (spelled here as Ommund) was born March 1, 1866 and baptized April 8, 1866.
