Gordon Jordal - Marriage

Gordon Edward Jordal married Delores Eileen Falconi in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois on September 24, 1958.

The Hamilton Daily News Journal published the announcement of their marriage on the 7th page of their October 8, 1958 edition.

Gordon Edward Jordal was the son of Ingebor (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Olson Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson. 

Susanna L Jordal - marriage

Here is the First Lutheran Church of Lee county, Illinois marriage record for Susanna L Jordal (#6), granddaughter of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Susanna married Arthur Johnson, son of Bertha (Jacobson) and Ole Johnson on December 15, 1898.

I do not have any additional records from First Lutheran Church; if I receive any others and have Jordal information, I'll post them at that time.

Edith Jordal - marriage

Here is the marriage license application for Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson's granddaughter, Edith Jordal.

Edith married Carl Larson on July 5, 1928 in St Louis, Missouri.     Edith was the daughter of Anna (Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal.

Alfred Lars Jordal - marriage

Sigri Gunnersdatter and Lars Olson's grandson, Alfred Lars Jordal was married to Ida M Luglan on December 16, 1909 in Mt Vernon, Davison county, South Dakota.

Here is the marriage register from Davison county.   Alfred and Ida are listed at entry #14500.

Alfred was the son of Isabelle (Halverson) and Lars Jordal.

Martha Jordal - marriage

The third child born to Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson, Martha Jordal was married on January 27, 1882 to Ingebrigt Knudtsen at First Lutheran Church* in Lee, Lee County, Illinois.

(It appears Martha was no longer spelling her name as Marta)

The marriage record indicates Martha was 25, however she was born May 13, 1855.  She would have been 26 at the time she married.   She would turn 27 a few months later.    I guess it's not uncommon to shave a year or two off one's life.

Gunder Jordal - marriage

From the March 14, 1894 edition of the Sycamore True Republican.

Annie (Larson) and Gunder Jordal were married on March 12, 1894.

Torbjor Olsdatter - marriage

Torbjor Olsdatter, the 2nd child born to Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson was married to Gunnar Olson on June 8, 1883.    Here is the Odda parish record (entry #4), Hordaland County, Norway.

Gunnar Olson was born on the Sandven farm south of the Jordal farm.

The parish marriage record lists Torbjor's year of birth as 1853, which is in error; she was born March 13, 1852.

Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson - marriage

Here is the Ullensvang parish marriage record for my 2nd great grandparents (#37), Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Sigri and Ole were married on July 14, 1849.    Like his confirmation document, Ole's place of birth is illegible; neither the farm nor the parish are legible.   At the time of the marriage, they were both residing at the Jordal farm.
