Oden Brown Jordal baptism

Oden Brown Jordal was baptized at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Steward, Lee county, Illinois on September 27, 1914.    The entry for his baptism can be found on line 15.

The record states Oden's birthdate as August 6, 1914.     Oden Brown Jordal was the son of Elizabeth (Brown) and Ole L Jordal, the grandson of Isabelle (Halverson) and Lars Jordal and great grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

1950 US Census - Ernest O Jordal

Here is the 1950 US Census for Ernest O Jordal, wife Marguerite (Preiss) and their two youngest daughters, Janice Elaine and Nancy Ann living in South Grove Township, DeKalb county, Illinois.

The Jordal family can be found on lines 7 - 10 of the US Census.    Ernest was employed as a farmer.

An interesting note:   Marguerite's brother Max Preiss was living next door to Verlis Finnestad, the brother of Kenneth Finnestad who was the husband of Ernest's sister, Lillian Jordal.   Another Preiss connection:  Ernest and Lillian's youngest sister, Evelyn Jordal was married to Marguerite and Max's brother, Charles Preiss.  A very small world with many entwining relationships.

Here is the 1950 US Census for Omer Jordal, his wife Mabel Odith (Berg) and their son Donald living in Malta township, DeKalb county, Illinois.   Their entries can be found on lines 5 - 7.

Omer was employed as a farmer and Donald was employed as a 'common laborer' for a construction company.

Omer Jordal was the fifth child and 4th son born to Ingebor (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Olson Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

1950 US Census - Martin Jordal

Here is the 1950 US Census for Martin Jordal living in Mayfield township, DeKalb county, Illinois with wife Alvera Julia (Johnson) and their son Marvin.     Martin and Alvera are located on lines 29 and 30 of sheet 14.

Marvin Jordal is located on line 1 of sheet 15.

Martin was employed as a farmer and worked 70 hours the week prior to the census, more than anyone else on sheet 14 of the census.

1950 US Census - Martha Svenia (Jordal) Askeland

Martha Svenia (Jordal) and husband Adolph Askeland were living in Lynnville township, Ogle county, Illinois at the time of the 1950 US Census.

Martha Jordal was the daughter of of Anna (Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal and granddaughter of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Gilbert Jordal and his wife Dorothy Jenny (Ahlberg) and their children, Vergene Gloria, Rosemary Ann and Charles Gilbert Eldon Jordal were living in Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois at the time of the 1950 US Census.     

Gilbert Jordal and family are found on lines 9 - 13 of the census.   Gilbert was employed as farmer.

Gilbert was the son of Anna (Jossendal) and Gunder Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

1950 US Census - Myrtle (Jordal) Wrigley

In 1950, Myrtle (Jordal) Wrigley was living in Lee, Lee county, Illinois with her husband, Earl Claude Wrigley.

Myrtle and Earl can be found on lines 22 and 23 of the census.   Earl was employed as an auto repairman.

Myrtle was the youngest child of Isabelle (Sigursdatter) and Lars Jordal and granddaughter of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

1950 US Census - Simon Jordal

In 1950, Simon Jordal and his wife, Grace (Abbott) were living in Fall River county, South Dakota.   Their entry can be found on lines 20 and 21 of the US Census.

Simon was employed as a farmer and Grace was employed as a grade school teacher.

Simon was the son of Isabelle (Sigursdatter) and Lars Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

1950 US Census - Ole Jordal

Here is the 1950 US Census for Ole Jordal, living in Willow Creek township, Lee county, Illinois with his wife, Elizabeth (Brown).    Their entries can be found on lines 27 and 28.

Ole was retired at the time of this census on April 10, 1950.   He would pass away two months later on June 10, 1950.    

was the son of Isabelle (Sigursdatter) and Lars Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Celia Berthana (Jordal) Oleson - Obituary

Celia Berthana (Jordal) Oleson was born November 29, 1894 in Willow Creek Township, Lee County, Illinois.    She married Bennie Elmer Oleson on July 23, 1926 though I do not know the place of marriage. Celia died in Franklin Grove, Lee County, Illinois on May 8, 1972.

Her obituary appeared on page 4 of the May 9, 1972 edition of the Dixon Evening Telegraph.

Celia Berthana (Jordal) Oleson was the first child born to Ingeborg (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Jordal.   She was the granddaughter of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Omer O Jordal - Marriage

Omer O Jordal married Mabel Odith Berg in Lee County, Illinois at the First Lutheran Church on July 2, 1927.    The announcement of their marriage was published on the second page of the Earlville Leader in their July 14, 1927 edition.

Omer Jordal was the fifth child and 4th son born to Ingebor (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Olson Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Gordon Jordal - Marriage

Gordon Edward Jordal married Delores Eileen Falconi in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois on September 24, 1958.

The Hamilton Daily News Journal published the announcement of their marriage on the 7th page of their October 8, 1958 edition.

Gordon Edward Jordal was the son of Ingebor (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Olson Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.
