Omund Jordal - obituary

Here is a small obituary* for my great grandfather, Omund Jordal, youngest child of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.    Omund passed away May 19, 1962 in DeKalb, DeKalb county, Illinois.

Omund was born March 1, 1866 in Jordal at the Odda parish, Hordaland county, Norway.   He traveled to the United States in 1892 and settled in Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois.   Omund married Ingeborg Haldorsdatter Mæland on March 17, 1894 and had 12 children.

Harvey was the son of Ingeborg ((Haldorsdatter Mæland)) and Omund Jordal and the second of their twelve children to pass away.

Harvey was married in 1932, not 1922.   May 14, 1932.    In 1930 he was still living with his parents in Milan township and was listed as being single on the US census record.
