1940 US Census - Silas Jordal & Kinnie Jordal, Susanna (Jordal) Johnson, Anna Winterton

The 1940 US Census for Silas Jordal and his brother Kinnie Jordal are contained on the same page.    Both were the sons of Ingebor (Haldorsdatter Mæland) and Omund Olson Jordal and grandson of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson.

Kinnie and family can be found on lines 3 - 7.  Living with Kinnie were wife Ethel (Johnson) and their children, Keith, Marilyn and Marcia.    Kinnie was employed as a farmer.

Silas and family can be found on lines 18 - 10.  Living with Silas were wife Margaret (Hall) and their son Robert.   Silas was also employed as a farmer.

Living next to Silas was their aunt, lines 15 - 16, Anna (Larsdatter Jossendal) living with her second husband, Elling Winterton.   Anna married Elling after the death of her husband, Gunder Olson Jordal.

Susanna (Jordal) Johnson, daughter of Isabelle (Sigursdatter) and Lars Olson Jordal and granddaughter of Sigri Gunnersdatter and Ole Larson is listed on line 13 - 14.  Susanna (also known as Annie) was living with her husband, Arthur.   Arthur was also employed as a farmer. 

All these families were living in Milan township, DeKalb county, Illinois at the time the census was taken in 1940.
